We've made some progress on the IVF front! We are now 78% of the way to funding this new adventure, thanks to family and friends for helping us out, as well as some sacrifices that we had to make. We are now driving less expensive vehicles, but we're happy doing it because that means we're hopefully closer to having a baby. I'm so proud of Bryan for finding a sweet deal on Craig's List for his shiny green Pathfinder. We just had it detailed inside and bought new mats and it took me back to the old days when he had his yellow 4Runner in college.
About a month ago, we met with our new Reproductive Endocrinologist, Dr.Paula Amato, at OHSU. We liked her very much and found out that we have several baseline tests to take care of since it's been a while. After they've performed all of the tests, we'll find out for SURE if we can do Attain (guarantee program). Based on our previous records, she did not think that it would be a problem. So far I've received the results of my Pap and HPV tests and they are normal. I did blood work for my FSH the other day and will find out soon. This is a common test that is performed to get an idea of the quality of a woman's eggs. Amazing, isn't it?
That's all for now. I'm going to try and keep everyone (who's interested) posted over the course of our "Baby Ruth" journey. If nothing else, this will help me keep track of all the hurdles we crossed to become parents.
